John R T Carson BSc CEng FICE FIHT:

John Carson is an honours graduate in Civil Engineering of the Heriot Watt University; he is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Institution of Highways and Transportation. He has worked in the Civil Engineering industry for more than forty years.

Prior to retiring John held the post of Director of Maintenance for Network Rail, prior to this he was a senior member of a team set up by the present government to take Railtrack out of administration and turn it into Network Rail a not-for-dividend company. Prior to this he was a director of Tube Lines where he was responsible for commercial matters in a deal that privatised the Jubilee Northern and Piccadilly Lines of the London Underground.

John has worked on many other PFI deals including the introduction of the TGV into Amsterdam, the English Highways Traffic Information System and the Bangour and Kinnegar sewage treatment works, one of the first PFI project in Northern Ireland. Prior to this he was the MD of a large Civil Engineering company where is was in charge of one of the largest tunnelling contractors in the UK. He also led the team that designed and constructed the Skye Bridge. John is now semi retired.

CV Keith Giblett MiMgt:

Keith is a founder member of Queensferry & District Community Council that was formed in 1986 and has held positions on the Council over the last 20 years of Treasurer, Planning Convenor and Vice Chair. He is interested in all matters that affect Queensferry and the surrounding towns and villages. Keith presently holds the positions of Vice Chairman and Planning Convenor.

Keith helped to form this action group some twelve months ago to create awareness with key decision makers, the general public and those that can influence the final decision.

Keith is semi-retired and prior to his retirement was a Site Maintenance Manager with Scottish & Newcastle Breweries working in Edinburgh.

CV Douglas GJ Fleet

Douglas has twenty years of successfully running an Architects practice whilst devoting half of his time to a number of charities and Christian organisations. Douglas has experience with both a large, multi-disciplinary practice in Edinburgh and with a medium sized practice in Glasgow. During this time he has served sixteen years as a Director and Vice President of the UK International Christian Chamber of Commerce which has taken him to several countries through out the World.

Douglas is a member of Queensferry Business Association where he is responsible for Planning and Transport.

CV for George Grubb

George has been the local councillor for Queensferry since 1999. He was brought up in Edinburgh and was a Scottish Junior half mile champion. He has a degree in Divinity and Philosophy, as well as a gold medallist in criminology. He served as a RAF padre for 8 years and a Parish Minister for 32 years. He is still active in church life with his wife Liz and he often helps out at Queensferry and Dalmeny churches.

George has been a member of the Forth Bridge Board (now FETA) for eight years, is a Member of the police and Fire Boards and Chair of the Community and Police Partnership Group.
